In 1999 I returned to India it was my second trip, for Jan my wife the first visit, we brought with us a series of paintings these bound into a book which I had completed after my first
visit the year earlier.
The Ashram was extremely busy and at that time we had no special seating.
From 3am onwards one would queue with thousands of devotees just to get a glimpse of Sai Baba.
The security was onerous there would be no chance of taking the paintings into the Mandir.
Sai Baba's Secretary agreed to see me, during that first meeting I asked would he show the book to Sathya Sai Baba?Yes he replied.
I was not to know but this was the start to the most wonderful 14 years of our lives. This one meeting lead to Baba giving my wife and I interview after interview
all of which gave us the privilege of the realisation that we were in the presence of the divine. In 2000 it was suggested by a senior member of Sai Baba's faculty that I should illustrate the life story
of Sathya Sai Baba, and to my amazement Sai agreed, saying" Go ahead with your plan it will be successful ".
The margin Black and White photograph show Baba on his veranda looking at one of the Water Colour Drawing books.
The paintings on this page are those viewed by Sathya Sai Baba in 1999.
